Access network and remote desktop without password

Method 1

If you are trying to connect a computer via remote desktop in Windows Vista, it will not allow you. Because by default Window vista does not allow blank password. But for your convenience if you want you can configure your Windows Vista to allow user access without a password.

You will need to run the Windows Vista Registry Editor.
Click on Start Menu > Run > Type regedit.exe in the dialog box and select OK

Now Navigate to following registry keys :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Lsa
&
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa

Now you had to create a new DWORD value named “limitblankpassworduse” and set it to 0.

This will allow a blank password access in the network.

Method2

Normally, you can configure your OS to enter your network computer without entering a password.
Try the following Method :
Click on Start Meny > Run > and Type gpedit.msc
Now a Group Policy Object Editor window will popup.
Now go to > Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options
Double click on Accounts and look for > Limit local account use of blank passwords to console login only.
Select the disable option.

Now if you look for other computers on the network it will not ask for a password.

Write in Hindi and Other languages on your laptop

There are many times when we find our regional language to be more effective in communation rather than english.
I will tell you few methods by which you can write in Hindi (and some other languages) by writing the same word in english. There is no need to remember the hindi keyboard, just write you words in english and it will convert to Hindi and also give you spelling options if you get if wrong or you meant to write something else.

Method 1: Use google's help

Go to the website http://www.google.com/transliterate/. This website provides you an editor  to write in english. The same word will automatically convert to Hindi (or other language as selected) on press of space bar.

Method 2:  Download Google Transliteration IME

Click on the link on the right in the above screenshot. Then download the applicaiton selecting you language.

IME Shortcut

A shortcut key sequence can be applied to the IME as follows which can be used to quickly enable IME for any in-focus application:

Windows 7/Vista
  1. Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Keyboard and Languages tab
  2. Click on Change keyboards... button to open Text services and input languages dialog
  3. Navigate to Advanced Key Settings tab
  4. If Google <Language> Input is not listed in Installed Services box, then click Add and in Add Input language dialog box, go to the language for which you want to enable IME in the languages tree and expand the node. Check the checkbox next to Google <Language> Input in the list.
  5. In Hot keys for input languages Select To <Language> - Google <Language> Input
  6. Press Change Key Sequence
  7. Select Enable Key Sequence
  8. Select option like Left ALT + SHIFT + Key 1
  9. Apply all changes
  10. Now opening an application like notepad and pressing Left ALT + SHIFT + Key 1 should open the IME.

No we are ready to Go. Just click on the place where you want to write, and press the hot key button. The Google language applicaiton will open and now we can start writing.

Method 3:  Microsoft Indic Language Input Tool

Go to the Microsoft website

http://specials.msn.co.in/ilit/Hindi.aspx

and follow the instructions. But with this method you can only write on web pages and not on other applications like notepad, word, and other non web based applications.

Method 4:  Using Google transliteration bookmarklet

Same as above, we can just use i Browser based applicaitions.
Drag and Drop the below link to the Bookmark Toolbar area of Forefox

[अ Type in Hindi]

Done! Now whenever you visit a web-site and want to type in
Hindi, click on the bookmarklet you just created.

10 steps to speed up your system

1. First and most important thing to make your laptop run faster is to keep it cool. Don’t go with its name (lappy ) if you are using high memory/cpu consuming programs, like games, designing software’s...
Keep at some gap from ground, and if it’s really has a heating problem use external fan coolers.
Excessive heating will lead to unexpected shutdown of the system and eventually will cause hardware failures.

2. Periodically check for spywares. Use programs like Spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html)
Spywares are the biggest reason for slow performance. They are not detected by simple anti-virus software and keep residing on the hard disc. If you see overuse of system CPU and Memory in the Task Manager it might be because of Spywares, they run unnecessary processes in background.

3. Most of the people don't care about this. But clean you laptop so that air flow will be free through the heated CPU. Check for the dust jamming the fan and other openings.

4. Use CCleaner (www.piriform.com) to remove cookies, temp files, old check disc files, old prefetch data etc.

5. Defragment you Disc weekly to speed up hard disc read capability. Over a long time due creation and deletion of files on hard disc the data on hard disc becomes scattered randomly. So it becomes difficult for the OS to search for these data when needed and hence slows the speed. By default in Windows 7/Vista this is scheduled and will run in backend.

6. Keep free space on hard disc. 20% free space is good for normal running of PC. This is needed for Virtual Memory and space needed while running programs. (Every program and website opened will create temp files)

7. Tweak you registry since corrupt registry slows down the performance to a very high level. This may also result in system crash if not checked at right time. There are free registry cleanup software like
WinMend Registry Defrag, Eusing Free Registry Defrag, Auslogics Registry Cleaner, Comodo Registry Cleaner, Glarysoft Registry Repair etc

8. For Windows7 and Vista users there is an option to use USB as memory device apart from Virtual memory and RAM.  It allows you to use non-volatile flash memory—like a USB flash drive or a memory card—to improve performance without having to add additional memory.

9. In addition to running Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter to enhance the performance of your pc, you can check the integrity of the files stored on your hard disk by running the Error Checking utility.
As you use your hard drive, it can develop bad sectors. Bad sectors slow down hard disk performance and sometimes make data writing (such as file saving) difficult or even impossible. The Error Checking utility scans the hard drive for bad sectors and scans for file system errors to see whether certain files or folders are misplaced.
If you use your computer daily, you should run this utility once a week to help prevent data loss.

10. Remove useless programs from startup list. Use command msconfig in Run to open the dialog box.
